My Tired Heart

My Tired Heart

A Poem by Giulia King

Frank Sinatra - I've got you under my skin, starts to play.
As we slow dance into infinity,
I look into your eyes and realize they're my favorite color.
I shake my head and close my eyes.
Suddenly it all made sense.
When my eyes met his,
I realized that forever was never going to be enough with him.
As I open them up I realize I'm alone in the dark.
It's always about you, you know.
The daydreams, a hundred tiny daydreams about you, about us.
I find myself getting lost with you in a world that doesn't even exist.
You're everything to me, the only star that remains brighter than others.
Being without you is pure darkness,
I suppose it will all make sense someday.
My intuition is telling me there will be better days.
Until then I will keep on dancing, perfecting my curves and moves.

Hear me, my tired heart,
Some things never change and that's the beauty of the world.
After all it's true, I've got you under my skin.
. . .

Gullia King,
"My Tired Heart"
Just as Frank Sinatra sings of a desire for love held so close within, so is a dream, a desire unrealized.
"The daydreams,a hundred tiny daydreams,
about you, about us."
Yes daydreams are a place where a soul can find a place of comfort, for a while.
"Being without you is pure darkness."
"I suppose it will all make sense someday."
"My intuition is telling me there will be better days."
The very essence of life's strength and how a heart: " a tired heart still beats, still strives forward.
"Hear me, my tired heart,
some things never change and that's the beauty of the world.
After all Iv'e got you under my skin."
A great poem about an underlying focus and hold on something desired but also a realization that time and life will bring new love, new experiences while the heart can dream and heal its way to this new place.
Blessings to you,
Kathy

There's a lyricist who knew how to hold sweet thoughts between each chorus! A wonderfully romantic song, says all when it hits the right notes. Nothing else but that feeling can reach so deeply.

Your words are so intense.. for me, this, especially, '.. find myself getting lost with you in a world that doesn't even exist.'

Who can resist such a love and the added soundtrack of the one and only, Mr. Sinatra?!

Nicely written words of longing and wonderment. Daydreaming of love is a beautiful thing. And sometimes dreams do come true.

Keep daydreaming.

Dancing with a shadow that never leaves your side is the most beneficial part of life, its structure can be changed, its shape can be sculpted, but there, another shadow appears, who?

Thank you for reading this one! x
there will always be that person in our memory...the one we felt the strongest attraction with...the most chemistry, combustible...and yet we knew even as we experienced it...we would not be enough for that person---we would never be the fairy tale ending...that either one or both would think he or she needed more...

might be a regret if we come to realize there was no one better out there...or we just settled...

but to have felt that intensity...it's a really strong entry in life's diary.
