The Most Delicate Rose

The Most Delicate Rose

A Poem by Giulia King

"You deserve to be with someone who makes you happy."
The earth started to shake.
"You're the one that makes me happy", she said with a trembling voice.

"I lost myself somewhere in your eyes, a sky full of stars.
You're the most delicate rose in my life, but that rose doesn't open up anymore."
He said, with tears in his eyes.

She felt misunderstood and lonely.
No one understands her mind.
No one understands her deepest and darkest secrets.
No one thinks as deeply as she does, this will always be her tragedy.
They misunderstood the most beautiful part of her body.

She looks at him as a stranger.
A million thoughts and memories of them are scored in her mind.
All that is left is this goodbye.

"I will always love you", he said.
"You're the type of girl I will always have a thing for."
He turned his back against her and walked out.
As the door closed she collapsed on the floor with her hands on her face.

She cried until there were no more tears left.
We're made out of stars.
A sense of acceptance washes over her and she started to
pick up the broken pieces of her heart.
Still mourning over what they could have been.

This is very touching and emotional...full of great lines like:

"I lost myself somewhere in your eyes, a sky full of stars.
You're the most delicate rose in my life, but that rose doesn't open up anymore."
He said, with tears in his eyes.

We're made out of stars.
A sense of acceptance washes over her and she started to
pick up the broken pieces of her heart.
Still mourning over what they could have been.

Well done!

'Started to pick up the broken pieces of her heart" damn this line had me. totally relate able even though a piece of your heart walks out the door we are left of a some what a shadow of our heart and yet still we have the will to pick up the remains of it and carry on. never forgetting but having the ability to slowing, yet painfully continue to love life and who comes with it.
This is such a beautiful 'scribble' Gullia King, keep up the good work.

Sad and full of heartbreak. Many people do love someone in life but very rare love stories are successful. Very nice poem...

Thank you so much! I'm happy I'm not alone
Wow. This poem reverberates well in the mind as the imagery is so strong and intense one cannot help but feel as lost and betrayed as the narrator. :/ I'm sorry that person felt such immense pain but it gave the world this gem of a poem so it was tragically meant to be. Really great use of diction and a nice subtly the italics add; really makes the words stand out. Great job!
