The Stand

The Stand

A Poem by GuinessGirl

We stand.
    Cows in the wet.
        Grass under the trees.
They leave their necks to
    Pull, lifting down.
        We over the truck,
Slow down the road
    To the front.
        Watch them, watch them.
They get out
    Fence on the lean.
They don‘t seem to notice we‘re here; we‘ve seen.
How look graceful.
    They unlike.
        How themselves.

This is a clever poem - in a small word count you have managed to capture so much - there is a real sense of being within a moment with this piece.
I liked your use of imagery here - it was peaceful. Your use of line breaks is also creative - although there are some points where I personally felt that it didn't work - in particular the third line, but then this is just my personal opinion.
This is a well written poem - congratulations.
