Palms

Palms

A Poem by GuinessGirl

       Pale and freckly,
Callous, yet smooth and gentle.
  Thin & knobby.

                         Knuckles hairy.
        Enlarged from cracking 10 too
                many times.
              Asymmetrical.

        Linked with mine.
                            For hours on end.
                The other holding a cigarette.
                His life-long friend.

        Ocean clear from a faucet.
                Sand is black night.
How late do you want to stay on the beach?

    Can we stay here forever?
