Withering In DarknessA Poem by Artiste de MotsA person awaits their true love, dreaming of them throughout the four seasons, like a single, gradually withering rose.Winter arrived Along with his frost-bitten chills Reminding me of shivers I get with you The snow flakes plummeted from the sky I dreamed of how you longed to fly But always feared falling Alas, Spring came Along with her vibrancy Reminding me of your rosy cheeks when we giggle The snow caps melted I dreamed of when tears flowed from you eyes Yet my heart always mended yours We were welcomed by Summer's long days Along with her sun's golden rays Reminding me of your vibrant personality The sky became a brilliant blue I dreamed of your intelligent, yet mysterious cerulean eyes How you would always shade their beauty In no time at all, we were visited by Autumn Along with her golden leaves Reminding me of your flowing blonde hair The foliage fell down I dreamed of falling with them Just so you could catch me The years have passed by Along with their rewards Reminding me of your kind qualities The mountains have weathered I dreamed how you made my heart feel light as a feather Yet still I wait outside the door to you Like a rose, slowly withering in darkness
