Lost ChildA Poem by Artiste de MotsThere is so much trouble in the world, it's hard to find what finally makes us crack.
The world is such a troublesome place
So much judgment, so much pain We go through a great struggle everyday But what's the one thing That gaurantees we'll never be the same? We're gleeful children Playing in the yard Clueless, innocent little kids Who love being caught off guard We're fascinated "big kids" Just discovering the world Curious about every nook and cranny Seeing reality unfurled We're confused preteens Starting to notice the bad We see what we've lost What we've never had We are lost teenagers No longer seeing the good We are starting to falling apart We want to stay the same, if we could We're broken souls Knowing sadness like no other We can't be the children we were Because someone pulled away the covers We're dead bodies Skin decorated in scars We finally gave up Our innocence all gone I wonder what the last straw was I wonder what finally made me crack I wonder what forced me get to the point Where there was no coming back © 2013 Artiste de MotsAuthor's Note
