Broken GlassA Poem by Artiste de MotsA comparison between a struggling girl and a shattered mirror.
They held me up
They all did Friends, family Even my guinea pig Then one day A slight support Slipped away More followed Seemingly one per day When the remaining struggled Barely enough To keep me up I gave in It had become too tough I hit the ground Shattered into mere remnants Only pieces Only bits I saw them returning So I became my own tape To try to hold myself together Yet another day So when they are near I am a single, fragile work But when they disappear I am fragments once more What will happen When the adhesive wears old I do not know I do not know I guess I will just be The broken reflection No one wants to see
