Dusk - The CityA Poem by GuavaguyA day in the city is a myriad of sounds, embrace it, live it, envision it.A man walks to work in the morning A woman rides the bus home A man sleeps on the street, He has no home A firetruck passes by, Wailing A car chase ensues, Police sirens screaming A man is yelling, A woman is crying Children are laughing, Men are laughing, Boys are laughing, Boys drink soft drinks, Girls play in the park, A boy climbs a tree, A cop yells at a boy for climbing a tree The president is in town Traffic everywhere Cars honk A fight breaks out Planes fly out of the airport The skyscrapers are so tall You live in one You live right on the water Chelsea You enter the lobby It is quiet Feng Shui Everything is in order Not like in the city You enter your one-bedroom apartment And look out the window Foghorns and car engines A long way to fall Everyone looks like ants from up here The sun has set You're tired You click off the lights, and go to bed.
