Dusk - Dusk

Dusk - Dusk

A Poem by Guavaguy
"

From day's start to day's end

"
Are you ever lonely when the sun sets?
There's a beachhead I always sojourn
From day's start to day's end
And when the sun has set
I always feel so lonely,
Longing, Desiring, that distant shore
Which I may gaze upon but never reach.
It's not there during the day,
I've checked.
It's only there at dusk
When the moon is full in the sky
And the owls hoo in the woods past my house;
It's been a long time since I've had a guest.
You're a traveler aren't you?
I'll have you know the seasons don't change here,
It's always going to be here
The beachhead will always break the waves of endless summer
But I know that the distant shore won't be there forever
It will come and go with the tides of another world,
Borne away on a vast ocean or an endless sea
To lands afar
Come with me to the woods
We'll chop the trees and make a raft
And we'll paddle to that distant shore
Where the pixies gather in their tree-houses
And watch the elves dance by night to the full of the moon
Let's do it while we can,
The winds are starting to blow...
