Solitary Confinement

Solitary Confinement

A Poem by GuardianZack

So empty seems this place
A place filled with broken dreams and fond memories
Lost in a world all our own, are we
The dreamers of reality, wanderers of the infinite
We drudge on and haplessly remain
As all seems to hang on the promise of certainty
A reason for being, an answer to all questions.

Time seems to burden our minds
It weighs heavily on our fragile hearts
We rise, and fall again
Only to find a beginning seed
From the dying blossom of our youth

Yet no oasis can be found
In the unforgiving desert of our futures.

Still, the hourglass turns
The sands of our lives shift, and settle into place
We find solace and comfort in an unfamiliar territory
The darkness becomes our light
We breathe a warm sigh of relief
Into the cold and vacant air, we press forward
And take refuge in the stillness of every moment.

About
Humanity as a whole seems to be falling apart. We live in a world where people generally just don't care anymore. People always see the need for change, but never do anything about it; Change has to b.. more..
