Sonnets For The Sky

A series of sonnets dedicated to the sky and all the emotion it evokes. Also these are not true sonnets. Merely loosely based interpretation.

I stare into the bright and shining sun,
The cosmos gazes towards the future anew,
The light has been present since ere first dawn,
Casts clear light and hope for me and you,

Yet beauty lain sky dulls in the moment,
Your misty jade eyes stare deep into mine,
To love and to lust, heart's true components,
Just hold me close my dear til' end of time,

Our age will destroy us, our hearts soon stone
Will change as sun grows cold, it soon shall set,
I feel a great weariness in my bones,
Last seconds of love as our blood does let

As red as deep ocean flows into our veins,
The breaking of day it shant' come again.

The rain it grows, it breathes air and it feeds,
On pain and anguish, on hopes and on dreams,
Torrential downpour soaks my mind,
My heart and spirit, soggy with grime,

The air excels smells musty, freshened by dew,
The scent of a forest, long since renewed,
The power of nature lies in its healing,
The rain in the sky, oh so revealing,

To wipe away sin, cast out traces of dust,
To sprinkle the skin, remove hardened rust,
Pollutants are crippled by purist green spring,
The showers of May happiness bring,

So please thank the rain, whenever you can,
The healer of wounds and saviour of man.

The sky like eyes, sees all with stars in night,
The spectrum cascades with wild euphoria,
The dark and the light, immortal the formula,
The magic it hides, right here in plain sight,

Our sky is broken filled with deep cracks,
An ethos of rainbow bleeds from aerial wounds,
Like a pharoah forever cast in crystalline tomb,
These cuts and these scratches glitter like glass,

She lives and she walks like us she does talk,
In roaring of thunder and crack of white lightning,
The voice of the heavens is deep and inviting,
She moves my heart in my mind she walks.

Do you think, do you wonder just as I do,
When you glance at the sky does it glance back at you?

Author's Note

I am aware of all meter inconsistencies, they are intentional. These are sonnets only in a loose sense. They are not perfect replicas of typical Italian, Spenserian or Shakespearean sonnets. This is why they do not fall in the Sonnet category.
