Lonesome Pain

Lonesome Pain

A Poem by Charlotte Scott

Lonesome Pain

Right now as I sit here

I feel so alone

room full of people

I want to go home

my family has gathered

today is the day

to share our thanks

it's the holiday

my tears are falling

I can't let them see

they won't understand

the pain in me.

I fake a smile

they see it's not real

I know my fate

has been sealed
