Revolution, A Midworld Fantasy: Chapter 1

A Chapter by Taylor Sherman

Normally a guy waking up, in bed, with 6 women would be a dream come true. But, not so for me, in fact, it was just another headache during my daily life as a licensed Summoner. To top off the headache they give me, is the fact that they're always jealous of each other, and super over protective of me.

First, there is Lust, an Earth God turned Demon by Lucifer. She loves to mess with me for the sole reason that I am in love with an Angel.

Secondly, there is Gluttony, an Elder Demon, been around as long as Lucifer has, since the days of old when there was one God that ruled the world. Is loyal to Lust and only to Lust, I have no idea why, but I'm thankful to have her on my side, even if she assists Lust in her teasing.

The Third demon in this mix is Sloth, who has been driving me insane by her slow responses to everything, even having her food stolen by Gluttony. She never angers, and I've never seen her move quickly for anything.

The Fourth one in this mix is a Half Angel called Wrath, who has been overly protective of me, not allowing any normal human to approach me without my consent first, and even then she would watch them like a hawk.

The Fifth demon is Envy, who gets jealous of everything, and assists Wrath in keeping others away, but mostly focuses on women.

The last one in this mix of oddity is Pride, I have no idea what she is, but it was only by everyone's teasing that she started to sleep together with them in their pile. Her pride was keeping her apart but something they said eventually made her cave.

"So Kale, enjoying yourself?" Greed snickers from the doorway.

And that is Greed, my more or less loyal friend who helps me keep track of everyone else and assists in daily household chores when I am too busy elsewhere.

"You know this isn't my choice but that they won't sleep anywhere else, even if I command them to" I retort with a sigh. "Now get me out from this pile, they're starting to crush me."

With a snort Greed shifts them off of me with a brush of his hand onto the floor quickly and quietly. "Lets hope they sleep until they have to get ready to leave."

Sitting up and stretching "Greed what are today's tasks?"

"Other than your daily duties as a Government Official Summoner, just making sure your comrades there get through the day without killing anyone in your class for talking to you."

With a sigh I lay back down "I never thought becoming a summoner meant becoming a babysitter, especially with demons of their age." I glance over at the pile with a soft smile. "Although, they have come to grow on me, even though they are just here to help me find...her." With that, Greed’s face turns serious.

"Do you think they can help?" He asks with worry in his voice

            "I know they can, because.."

With soft snores slowly dying the pile slowly wakes up, and with 6 voices crying out in shock as to seeing me not being crushed by them they frantically untangle themselves.

"Kaleeeeeeeeeeee" They cry out "Don't just leave usssssss"

Looking down at them with a sigh "Go get dressed for class, now. That's an order" they grumble and sigh but each one disappears with a poof of smoke as they go to change.

"Now that's over with, let's talk about budget..." Greed says from the doorway.

"I'll get paid next week don't worry about it, all their expenses will be covered as part of my budget." giving Greed a look to silence any further questions, I go about getting dressed and ready for my first day of school. "Oh and Greed please lock my door, they shouldn't be able to reappear here unless I summon them and I need time to think..." Nodding, Greed magically seals my door as he leaves, snorting to himself.

As soon as he's gone and the door is sealed, I clutch at my head. "Lucifer, which memories did you take?" Only the ones of your Childhood friend, Sara I think. I hope you realize you can only use my power two more times with the memories you have... "I know I know...But I needed to be certain that everything will go smoothly. I don't care about the ones you took or about the award I was given at age 16, just avoid taking the ones about her" As you wish. As a heads up, I can sense them coming now, and Greed's the weakest one of the bunch. You'd do best to hurry up, for his seal won't last long. And with that, I feel his presence in my mind enter a slumber.

Sighing and bracing myself I prepare for the next hour of fighting to get everyone ready and to school on time. "Why did i ever think this was a good idea..."

I stand in front of my door, taking a deep breath before I slowly dispel Greed’s lock. "Shocked it held after what Lucifer said." I mutter to myself. Opening the door slowly I look out into the hallway to see everyone, even Sloth, lined up neat and tidy in their new school uniforms. With what must have been a look of shock on my face Lust starts to giggle.

"We thought we'd surprise you since we've been giving you a hard time." The rest of the group nods smiling or blushing slightly. "And, since we know what it is you really want." That snaps me out of my shock.

            "You mean...”

"Yes Kale, we know that you're searching for an Angel and that we're just tools to do so, but you've gone out of your way to make us comfortable in this world and all we've done is cause you trouble." With a twirl she turns and heads out the door "If we don't hurry up we'll be late for our first day of College"

The rest of the herd shuffles after her, trying their best to behave, leaving Greed and I behind. I had a talk with them. Lucifer's voice echoes through my head. They didn't know how much it was hurting you, both mentally and physically with how they were acting, and you're too kind to tell them. So I did. I shake my head with a sigh and turn towards Greed. "Well, we better get going, and remember Greed, go through the school’s Library for all records that speak of the current Angels serving the God of Wisdom and the God of Knowledge." Greed nods before patting me on the shoulder.

"You try too hard Kale, but just remember that we will support you to the end. You're the first one to show us kindness in many, many years. We will find the one you love, even if it kills some of us." As Greed chases down the group leaving me to reflect, I can't help but think of how cryptic his words were, as if he knew who it was I sought out.

"Must be imagining things" I mutter as I hurry to catch up. "Hey wait up guys!"
