My Show

My Show

A Poem by Taylor Sherman

Listening to
The radio
Everything becoming
My show

Night rolls around
The radio switching
Tunes
Over to melodic blues

Tears form
In once dry eyes
That held a smile
For everyone

In my
Show

Alone now
Without the radio
My voice singing
Off tune blues

The moon rises over
The clearing I sat in
Shining down
With a soft pale light

As if whispering
You're not alone
Even when
Not on the radio

The world is your show
Waiting for you
To grasp the
Chance before you

Laying back
Eyes drying
Asking myself
Am I ready?

And allowing myself
To smile once more
For even without
The beat

The world
Is my show
