The Opening

The Opening

A Poem by Taylor Sherman

Where were you?
When I was falling apart?
When I was crying myself to sleep?
When I was left alone?

Insecure from
The treatment I received
Worried I am a burden
Scared to love

To open up my heart
To let someone in close
In case they get hurt
By me

Lost in my thoughts
I push away
Everyone who tried to get close
Until that one

Special person broke the wall
Broke the locks
And opened up my heart
To their love
