CHAPTER VII

CHANGE OF PLANS

That night, the kids all sat around at the table they sat at the previous night and ate stew The Master prepared from them. As they ate, he told legendary stories of the Transcendency.

Then after a couple stories, Tiki Bison said, "How did your meeting go with the king today?" The kids looked in awe that The Master met with such a high ranking person.

"What didja talk about," White Ezra says as he kicks his legs back and forth.

"The war this kingdom is facing. Your father, before you were born, were good friends with him. The person who killed your father, my brother," everyone gasps. The Master sighs, "My brother, is the person who is at war with this land. I will leave tomorrow. You will stay here and do as you please, probably go to the library and the newsstand. S**t's going down in the north," he shakes his head then claps his hands, "Welp, I want to show you a little of the city."

"oooo oo oooooo, I... I showed them around today," Tiki Bison said, overly excited.

"Hehe, good job," The Master said and patted the bison's head, "But it's night I wish to show them, follow me." The Master grabbed a walking stick and proceeded to the door. He gestured for the children to follow him, Tiki Bison stayed behind. The moon was bright when they walked out.

White Ezra said,"Where are we going?"

"And why," added Grey Ezra, having a bad feeling something was going to happen.

"You'll see," The Master responded with a smile. Suddenly the area around flashed. For a second it appeared they were in a cave. The children froze. "What's wrong," the old man turned slowly. He flickered in the eyes of the children. If only for a moment he looked like a green mass.

Black Ezra said, "S-Stay Back! You...you... BEAST," as he and his brothers cowarded.

"Hey, hey shhhhh, it's ok, Remember? Someone else is doing this." The Master's voice seemed different to the children, deep and gurgly.

The Master's neck cinked to the right, "d****t why now" his eyes started glowing red, and then the 4 kids saw what they never expected. Three beastly figures in the shape of the three mysterious people they ever knew, The Master; The cloaked figure from the forest; And their father, emerge from the green ooze with a explosion of slime.

The kids started running away and they felt the same weird feeling in the forest. They ran to the place Tiki Bison had showed them that day, the shopping district. When they got there, they saw the buffalo talking to Gary at his stall.

As soon as they emerged from the ally, they saw the children. Tears running down their eyes Tiki Bison knew exactly what happened. He flew over and asked how many he saw. Rainbow Arze held up three fingers. Tiki Bison turned to Gary and said "awww, damn, GARY IT'S TIME!" Gary, knowing exactly what was happening, grabbed a pitchfork from under his stall. Tiki bison looked at the kids again, "come, we may need your help." His voice was high pitch, as normal, and hard to take seriously when he screamed.

So the 4 kids, the fruit salesman, and the bison, all ran to where the children said the beasts were spotted. I know what happened. It's happened to me a few times. When the party of six returned to the scene. They see The Master on his stomach in a big pool of blood that spread right and left of his body.

The Master looked up, blood in his beard, and said to Tiki Bison, "They did it they defeated me."

Tiki Bison sighed and said, "that’s good, I'm glad your ok," a translucent blue hand that came out of Tiki Bison's mask.

When The Master stood, there was a big gash in his chest revealing his rib cage, "damn they hit hard," The Master said, after seeing his wound

Black Ezra, confused with the rest of the kids, shouted angrily "Can someone PLEASE explain what's going on here?" The Master and Tiki Bison laugh and wave toward a nearby rooftop. The children look and see no one, only a few birds.

Grey Ezra says "Well that explains nothing but," he looks towards his brothers, "let's try to enjoy it, it seems were safe." Black Ezra sighs in defeat, While the other two brothers nod in agreement.

White Ezra says, "Hey, The Master, are we still gonna follow you to the place where you wanna show us?"

The Master, completely forgetting his wound, said,"Yes, I'm glad you asked. Gary can we see your 'night shift'?" He extended two fingers on both hands and bent them inwards as he said the words 'night' and 'shift'.

Gary sighed in disappointment, "Eh, it's not a-job I'm exactly proud of, but you always do me good if you come, so it's fine. I don’t know if your 'new students' should see this though." He then did the same gesture The Master did to 'new' and 'students'. The fruit salesman proceeded to say, "What are ya gonna do about that nasty wound?"

The old man chuckled, "Oh ya, almost forgot about that," he snapped his fingers and bandages formed wrapped around his stomach. "That's better, now, let's go!"

So the seven of them proceeded to the place referred to as 'Gary, the fruit salesman's night shift'.
