Chapter 6: Royal PresenceA Chapter by Grey EzraCHAPTER VI ROYAL PRESENCE The Master went to the castle, located in the middle of the city. I would of gone myself but there were... complications that prevented me. The Lord of the land respected The Master as, well, a master. The Master bowed before the ruler of the king. "Sire, I have grave news." "What might that be?" The king was a little worried but not by much. "Remember how I told you my two brothers had a bitter hate for one another?" "Yes, I recall you telling me stories about this, and what it would eventually lead to," the king said, thinking he would hear another story about The Master's weird family The Master, still bowing let a tear fall. He was barely able to let out the words, "…led to,… my liege. It has begun." The king froze, he was already at war. He jump up as he remembered he had children, "you... you saved them, right. There ok, r-right?" He trembled as he said that. "Yes, yes, they're ok," The old man said. "We need to speak with my other brother. They need to train, many may die, I know this, you know this." The king stuttered," Y-Yes... of course. Get my carriage ready to go to the Divine Sanctum. We are going to the Crusade's Chapel there," He shouted in the next room. "Right away, Tir," a semi-high pitch voice with a heavy accent said, "Wheel leave at tusk." "What-NO! It's too dangerous at night. You dumbass, are you trying to get me killed?," the king pauses as he thinks of the quality of the people he hired. After he sighs, he says, "We leave tomorrow at exactly at midday. You know what that is? THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF NIGHT!" The king said that, more stressed than normal, and he's a king in the middle of a losing war. I mean that’s pretty stressful. "Calm down sire," The Master said, "This will be stressful for everyone. We must stay vigilant. I talked to him this morning and on my way here. It would be in our best interest to meet my brother, tomorrow, by nightfall." The king took some deep breaths, "Ok … ok … what will happen there? What do we plan to do?" The Master was silent for a small period, "End it. Our goal is to end this war, he won't go peacefully. That's why they are so important." The king, now calm, replied "What of the other two, And me. You told me that-" "In time, my liege, you've trusted me so far and have yet to disappoint," The Master said as he stood. He then turned around and walked out of the throne room, as doing so he waved and said, without looking back, "As for the other two. The children will get them." © 2016 Grey Ezra |
