Sunrise

Sunrise

A Poem by Battlecry
"

A poem about the warmth of hope.

"

Oiled down within the festering warmth

Passionate hope doth glow

The crimson flames glowing with vibrant wings

The sword strikes down its foe

Brimming with burnt ripples of invigorating auras

The sun rises brilliantly now

Bright red and orange flash passionately

As the battle begins to die down

Beaming with rays of determination

The war is now over at last

I still hear the cries of the burning nation

And the words of the hero from the past

“Fear nothing evil and always stay strong”

As he struck down the beast and the clock tower rung

The fire died out and a new day has come

Sunrise is what happens when a hero has won

I like how you used the concrete quality of warmth to describe the abstract idea of hope. You did a nice job with the imagery, too. Even just skimming through it for the first time it got the feeling across, and made me want to read the poem more carefully.
