"Selfish"

Am I selfish,

Is it selfish of me that i want her, and 

no one else to have her.
I want to be the only one she talks to.

The only reason why she smiles

She's the only reason I smile

The reason I laugh 

You should see her

She's amazing 

She'll take your breath away..

If you see her cry, you'll turn your

back to the whole world to see her 

smile again..

Is it selfish of me that I want her 

more in my life...

If it is selfish, say I am selfish...but the 

reason why is, I'm in love with her..

This is a great poem that I like very much. It's so true to life. People always want to be selfish about love & jealousy is the curse of mankind. You've shown that in realistic, everyday glimpses of how it can feel. I also like that you describe your feelings, but also you describe your beloved. Sometimes, poems of the lovelorn forget to mention the beloved, becuz the poem is all about "self" (this is how love makes me feel). The way you describe the beloved is brief but powerful. Good job!

Wow so true..I found Love make you selfish...but i think..true love is..set her / him free for their happiness if you really love her or him...as because true lover always want her/him to be happy and feel happines in her/his happines or wishes.

The reason we are selfish... ah, there is a question for the philosophers.

It is not because we are in love with anyone other than ourselves... IMO.
True love would actually allow you to give up the object of your affections if it was in their best interest.

Oh, but desire... this is another thing all together.

I read desire here. It is a type of love... Love has been used to label so many of our conditions it becomes hard to define.
