"Memories"

"Memories"

A Poem by Gregory Lara

The memories of you and me

are the best thing i have

seeing you in my dreams

remembering the first time we met

how i was awestruck

the memory of holding your hand

the memory of kissing you

holding you close

feeling your heartbeat

They bring me peace in this hurricane

Just to find memories, of you and me

The memories are bittersweet

Plagues me with constant misery

Knowing they're just memories

Its a true struggle to try and not find comfort in an illusion.
Especially one as magical as this dream.

Bravo!

yes we all have memories we love and some we dont. I really enjoyed reading this poem, although now Im sad because it has brought me to a place where I do not want to be right now. I can relate to this so very much. Guess we should be thankful for those memories.
Thanks enjoyed the read
Beautiful work

This is good, sad but good you have very strong and deep emotions which help it out...good job

This is another sad poem... There is an emptiness about it, strange though the memories are good ones. Nice write

Poignant and moving, Gregory. Well done! This brought me to a place I'd rather not be right now, though, with my own "just" memories.

This verse is full of emotion! I know how it feels to be that memory and to love a memory....just have no regrets or l=earn from them. Then move ahead in your journey. It's not an easy lesson, but a life lesson that serves us all well. Wonderful write!

loving and touching. I can smell the regret and sadness. Solid flow helps the beat along.
I'd take an ax to the "I call a brain" after the hurricane. Let us just get the image of the hurricane and figure the rest out.

and who cares what other people say...
ahaha they dont matter anyways :)
memories are a good part of life...
they help us remember the good things we have had in our lives..and if they're bad well jus learn, grow, and throw them away! :)
