Recurring DreamA Poem by Greg SkuraThis is a story of a recurring dream from when I was a child. Not quite a poem no rhyme.
It always was the same
It just seemed to continue Suddenly there is an upright monster In front of me in it's hands it is holding a great bolder And it is coming for me with a roar I scream at the top of my lungs My screaming voice is silent The creature throws the bolder And I somehow manage to dodge it I run as fast as I can but I am not moving The creature picks me up and I start punching My hits are like a pillow I coward and wake up screaming After this occurred a great number of times I recognized the dream Lucid in the dream I would say This is only a dream And I was free The next dream There I was inside a body of light It appeared that there was A great deal of commotion around me Even though I could not see what was happening As if I was strapped down to a steel inclined table I could feel the cold steel on my skin I could see the look of fear in the others across from me I could barely move my eyes from side to side As if I am paralyzed Others like me not sure why we were there Then it occurred to me maybe they are afraid Of what is being done to me I awake covered in sweat and still frozen with fear
