I Shall Embrace

I Shall Embrace

A Poem by Greg Skura
"

inspired by Tariqs' poem Placid Death

"

Death
                           I shall embrace
As I pass through
           The door of new beginning

When I stand
      Before The Creator

I will not be judged
                   My judgment came
Everyday
                           From within
                   Sometimes harsh
              Always unfair
I Thought I wasn't worthwhile
                                Didn't seem to care.

Found a new way
       Of thinking
Self talk swirled
                                               In my head
It's not what your saying
              It's how
                                 It is said
One day I
                         Awakened
               Saw my own light
Tried on my conscience
              Developed
                                  Insight
Now each moment
                                  I plant seeds
                          To sow
So much knowledge
  One needs
                            To know
Truth is a double edge
      Cuts to
                           The bone
Balance the blade
     We are
                    Not all alone

Be who you are
                                       In each moment
                               Of life
Live in your conscience
            Slay your
                                 False pride

Life's an adventure
            Enjoy the
                              Short ride

When deaths doors knocking
                                                           Embrace

You can't hide

I enjoyed this poem...I think though, that we will be jugded...but fairly...yet not impartially...as a father judges a son, not as a judge passes sentence on a miscreant...cold...indifferent...
Your words are wise...good advice...
Live life...make an effort...don the mantle of truth...these things will speak for us when we ARE judged...
Well done...

I really like this! Your formatting is perfect for the flow, it really enhances the piece, emphasising on specific parts of the sentences.
The subject and meaning is great too, a very honest interpretation of life, and the formatting, sometimes frantic and uncontrolled, reflects the frantic, uncontrolled parts of our lives.
This is definitely one of my favourites :) Just great :)
