Happenings

Whatever happened to the meadows and grass?
It’s all been covered with concrete and glass

Whatever happened to the house we called ours?
It’s now all asphalt and full of big cars

Whatever happened to the sun on the rise?
It’s hidden by smoke and smog in the skies

Whatever happened to the fields we once roamed?
All this cement can I really call this home?

This echoes something another poet sent me a message about this weekend. Funny how we catch on to a common thought without knowing. Wise and honest poetry. Perfect for the day I'm having.

I like this one, too. Cool idea to have a collection called "Life". City life or even the suburbs in your descriptive voice brings more to thought than concrete and glass. Along with our loss of spring like meadows are front porches and real family dinners. Kudos on the write!
