Impression

Impression

A Poem by Greg Skura

Abstract impressions profound and divine
Refract upon the mirrored prism, of mind
Void of thought, the vision is crystal Clear
Silently waiting, ears hurting to hear
Seeing all that is, at once, no less, no more
Universal energy entwined through to the core

The next rush of oxygen, as I take another breath
Disturbs my stillness, as self talk tries its’ best
To well up, and distract my heavenly sight.
Will I hold my silence for the rest of the night?

This is a poem which speaks of concentration being thwarted by external (Oxygan) and internal factors (self talk). One is led to wonder at the circumstances here. You seem to seek an almost trance-like state. Difficult, especially at night when sleep to can interfere.
An interesting poem. I have read several of your works, and reading them one after the other led me to feel tat a style change might help you express. IE adoption of an abab, cdcd, efef pattern ending with a couplet in summation foe emphasis. Our world of poetry is wnderfully large. Your subject matter is both touching and interesting. I feel some variation fron aa bb cc etc would help you greatly. Try blank verse even.

Wonderful imagery. I found my self thinking of impressionism and how I have viewed it in the past. After this read I am ready to get back to the museum. Thanks for sharing, Barb

mmm..... mediation. Concentrate on the breath... clear the mind of thought. It is then that one becomes open to receive the universe, through the third eye (or other chakra). :) I think the biggest challenge in meditation is hushing our inner voices. We can never do so completely because absolutely everything we do or even don't do consists of thought, but we can rid ourselves of the clutter.

Another great write. You my friend are speaking my language. Love it. :)

Will you hold silence or share your gift? That is so often the pressing question.
