Cold Night

Cold Night

A Poem by Chantavong
"

The memories bring me warmth

"
Once in a while on a cold dark night
I sit on the beach under the moonlight
When the stars are out in the sky
All by myself, asking myself why
Why things happen the way they do
Why people become so untrue
Leaving behind the words they said
All their promises just left for dead
How can someone that says they'll always be there
Or someone that says no matter what they'll still care
Just leave you behind in the dust
And make ignoring you a must
How cruel it is that I showed you so much
For you to just erase me out of your life as such
I think it's very selfish of you to just walk away
Not even think for once about trying to stay
No matter all the times you've cheated on me
I kept on trying because that's the way it's supposed to be
That's what you do when you're in "love"
You never stop trying, you never give up
But it's okay, I'm not bitter I'm not holding a grudge
Because you never regret being with someone you once truly loved..
