Butterfly Waltz

Butterfly Waltz

A Poem by GreenTaurus
"

It's a mimic poem I wrote in class a while ago. I can't remember the name or author of the original though. I focused on using the same theme/topic and the same length.

"

The pain in my skull was a drum,

beating insistently,

consistently sending fireworks

into my vision.

The world danced behind

my closed eyelids as the

scarlet rivers flowed down my arms,

and the purple hills throbbed.

Like a routine ritual,

my mother pays homage to my breathing corpse,

leaving a trail of tears

for herself as she continued to the next room.

The lights fade with the

bleeding sun and the breeze

brings in a fluttering butterfly petal trail

to lead me into darkness again.
