Too Far Ahead

Too Far Ahead

A Poem by GreenSkeleton16
"

I wrote this for my friend who lost his grandma. He said he kept having this dream where he was chasing her but never could catch her.

"
The dreams tend to haunt me
in the back of my mind,
I cry out from the pain
as I'm drifting behind

Never can catch her
she's too far ahead,
tears on my eyelids
as I lay in my bed

I reach out to hold her
she never reached back
The love that she gave me
is the one thing I lack

I see her from a distance
I long for her touch
My hearts beating faster,
the pain is too much

One day I'll catch her
she will stand by my side,
her hand on my shoulder
with her heart as my guide

Even though we know the root of the story here, the heartfelt feeling could be interpreted or have significance to one in other ways.
And..
Great Lyrics!
