Alone at Night

Alone at Night

A Poem by GreenSkeleton16
"

Being haunted by spirits who died in vein.

"

I walk through the fog on this one dreadful night

Spite and deception is all that’s in sight

Through all the mirrors that replicate my reflection

I’m feeling the heartache of hopeless perfection

I sit on a rock near a wide stream

wondering if this is all just a dream

I look at the ground and see heavy soil,

remembering all the pain and turmoil.

Why is this pain all I can see?

Why won’t these feelings just let me be?

Why am I haunted by people’s mistakes?

People who've died in rivers and lakes

I also took a line from this and made it the chorus in a song I wrote "Haunted by people's mistakes!!!!"

The best thing about you is that your rhyming scheme is always perfect without ever feeling forced. Or maybe it's your meter, also always perfect. There is no room in my favorites for this one, but perhaps that's because so many of yours are already in there.

Almost ABAB lol. This would be an example of AABB. ABAB is where the first and third lines ryhme and second and fourth lines ryhme. AABB is first and second lines rhyme and third and fourth Rhyme. You're getting it though.....but all that aside, i really like this. I dont know why you dont like to rhyme and you think its cheesy when you're so good at it

I really love how you rhyme everything perfectly in your poems. This one is no exception, leaving a lot of food for thought in the end. Good job.
