Rise Above and Fly Away

Written 3/2/15 A phoenix rises.

Falling...
Falling...
Falling...
I'm falling into a black abyss
As you rise like a phoenix
You burned to ash and rose above
But I just continue to smolder
How do I light this flame
And set fire to my soul
So that I may burn up
Rise
And fly away
Will you leave behind some feathers?
As you rise and fly away
So that I may gather them
Paste them on my back
And take flight
I want to fly into the light
