Layers

Written 10/3/06 I think I wrote this about myself, but I can't remember lol.

One layer of secrets
Another of total scares
Finally getting deeper
Finding the layer of truth
-
One layer of walls
That can be tough to climb
But if your successful
And get to her next layer of skin you'll find where she hides
-
A layer of haunting dreams
There keep her awake at night
Another of her smile that could fool the world
But if you know her well enough and her many layers; she won't have you fooled
-
Passing all the many layers that would scare most people off
But sticking around to find out more I think is worth much more
Now you're coming to the core
Where there are layers no more

Behind all these layers
Who she really is will shine
Sweet, loving, and kind

This makes me think of two different kinds of people. Some open everything to another individual in a relationship immediately, but others aren't quite so open and you have to work a little more to learn who they are. I have found that it is usually more worthwhile to find someone who you have to work a bit more to discover who they really are. It develops a bond and strengthens it along the way. It creates moments that won't be forgotten.
