Heart of Gold

A girl with such beauty and grace
Although some would disagree
Calling her what they thought to believe a disgrace
-
Not knowing how wonderful she truly is
Not wanting to take the time
To look a little deeper, not only to find that beyond
The disappointment that lies as a layer on top
Underneath she is hurt but trusting, loving and sweet
-
A heart of gold
Pouring it out on the table every time
For those that want to see her true baring soul
-
Like the sun
She sends rays of sunshine down upon everything
Making all the troubles of the day seem to go away
Even in the mist of your darkest hour
She'll make it worth the while
-
And after all the rain and shine, finding a pot of gold
At the end of the rainbow
She'd still trade it in for your smile.
