What's Inside - To Cut

Written 3/14/06 Wrote this when I self harmed for the first time. (Trigger warning)

To cut
Just to experience
What swims in
Comes flowing out
-
To see the pain
To touch, taste, and feel the pain
Making sure
It's so real
-
Dying within
So I rip open
The inside
Then cauterize the wound
-
Making sure
To never know my haunted soul
To hide maybe once more
And not reveal myself again
-
To hold my heart
Oh so close
So that no one
May see my painfully bruised self
-
So one last wound
Conflicted upon me
Just to really know
The pain I go through

Very dark. I know a lot of people feel this way, and that saddens me. It's well written, and it accurately portrays the feeling of hopelessness, loss, depression, loneliness... The feeling is real, but we must overcome.

Haha well I didn't do it because of my age, I was doing it because of things that happened when I was younger. Long story lol.

I don't believe there were any cutters when I was in H.S. If so there were very few. I didn't understand cutting the first time I encountered it. It took me quite a while and many questions to begin to understand. I now understand. I don't judge others. That takes conscious effort daily. I liked what you wrote. I love dark dark writing. Glad to hear you don't feel the need to harm yourself anymore. There is only one of you ya know. Glad you found writing again. Keep up the good words

Most people don't understand cutting, until they do it themselves. It's not an easy thing to try and understand.
