I tell myself stories
Constantly
I construct entire backstories
From little innocuous events
Forever confusing
My invention with reality
Loudly screaming my opinions
In my head
About all the things
Nobody asked
When I first spotted that you were writing a "book", I assumed that it would be in a traditional kind of way. With possibly, an "introduction" or "prologue" at the beginning; for example. Then, I reminded myself that this was Writers Cafe.
I feel almost as if, these "chapters" are in diary format. In terms of content too, actually. After all, it's all about the writer; as if the world rotates around her (rather than our sun).
On the otherhand, that total focus upon the "self" is quite common in diaries and journals.
The writer reveals much with this approach, about her various perceptions; in terms of what she has deemed her reality.
Specifically, this chapter considers her creative side; in terms of the possible conflicts which might be holding her back. Note though, it almost seems as if she confuses herself. On the positive side, it's tacitly implied that she does have a lot of creative thoughts which she'd like to express; presumably if various obstacles can be overcome.
Indeed, I hope that the writer does develop greater confidence to write more. Possibly, low self-esteem also hampers her efforts in some way. Time will tell, how she pans out.
This reminds me of my favourite past time too, ever since there was a show on TV about two sisters that used to call it people watching. I think it was called Watching and made by Granada TV. Anyhoo, they'd be sitting in a cafe and talking about the customers, like "No one would ever suspect that 86 year old grandma of being an International assassin, but...)
Think it was late 80's early nineties when we still only had four channels to watch. I know, shock horror!
Anyhoo, that was an abbreviated version of a review that I could just have said samezies, but then I'd have to fit in an apology for barging in on the last page, so apologifications for that and now I can go and read the rest of them! 😃
I'm living in the good ol' south of the US of A. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I guess that means I'm supposed to know things. I don't always. I write because I can, and because I can write word.. more..
