You shouldn’t play with fire

and that’s all I am

Just a blaze of emotions

I still can’t control

Left in careless hands

destined to burn myself up

There are emotions here. That’s good in my book. A bit of fire now and then proves people are alive. I like those with a bit of a spark. Complete burn out though is self destructive in my opinion.

i know the feeling and can relate (i'm often my own worst enemy). a stark write. as the old saying goes, "it's better to burn out than to fade away". many people aren't as such - i guess that's why they have bic lighters ... :)

I really like this one and can relate to it deeply. I often feel as if I'm a blaze of emotions as well, and that it's dangerous for people to love me, but also dangerous for me to love other people because of the way others have cruelly loved me. An excellent and snappy poem that expresses a lot in just a few words.

Excellent. I really appreciate this poem. Brief yet fully engaged. "Blaze of emotions" indeed, shouldn't "play with fire". I love that. Though somewhat tongue-in-cheek, it is very much a serious idea with real consequence.
