I like the way your name
tastes in my mouth.
The feel of its curves and consonants
rolling over my tongue.
And I’ll never understand
how people can say it so casually
like they don’t feel the same thrill.
Can they not see
the effect it has on me.
A amazing poem dear poet. A complete story and the words alive and wonderful. When a name make us crazy in love, crazy in the adoring of another person. This is paradise. You are my muse tonight. This poem awoke my muse. Thank you and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

For some crazy reason, this poem had me thinking of Anne of Green Gables. She is involved in a conversation about the importance of names.
"I've heard it said that a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet, but I don't know. How could a rose smell so sweet if it went by a name like, say, a Skunk Weed. Somehow it don't seem right."
I know this probably has nothing to do with your poem, but I found it interesting.
Can you really taste a name? I'm thinking of a Fletcher's Corn Dog from the State Fair of Texas, but, for the life of me, I can not find a way to actually taste it. Put it on the tip of my tongue and YUMMY!
You are a wonderful poet.
Beautiful. THe effects it has on me. I like how you put that. Very gripping is your verbiage "I like the way your name
tastes in my mouth." This is a captivating first line(s) that leads into a lovely poem. Well done
Ah! That's what love (or infatuation) can do! It can make simple everyday things, like speaking a loved one's name, seem wonderful! I have felt the same way myself, in years gone by! A nicely penned piece - both personal and yet, universal, in that others can relate to it!
I'm reminded of my 3rd grade crush back in the early 70's. Her name was Brenda. And your poem so aptly describes the feelings I would get when simply saying her name. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
I like your words, you captured a very sensitive intimate way yo feel love
Even by saying a name , or pay attention to a small little things that only the one in love would notice. You wonder, how others wouldn't
I'm living in the good ol' south of the US of A. Professionally, I'm an engineer and I guess that means I'm supposed to know things. I don't always. I write because I can, and because I can write word.. more..
