Starless

Starless

A Poem by Green
"

"

Storm clouds hide my stars

But they won’t just commit to the rain

How can I wish

If they hide behind these thick veils

I can stand here and stare at the sky

Angry at nature

Because it’s beyond my control

Lightning flashes in the clouds

Little blurps of light

That reveal the meaningless condensate shapes

It isn’t even scary that high up

When you can’t see its jagged form

Maybe I’ll wish on it

Stars are just light from millions of miles

Away anyway

"Maybe I'll wish on it" .. such a positive thought, and then trust it to the vastness of the Universe. I enjoy your work and perspective.

'Storm clouds hide my stars
But they won’t just commit to the rain'

This is a great line.

The poem feels slightly nihilistic in tone. As a whole it is a really nice piece.
