I'm ok

I'm ok

A Poem by Green
"

7 months on...

"
I'm ok
And you knew I would be
You never asked me,
like you did Mom
You just knew
I miss that about you
That unwavering confidence
That foolhardy belief
that I could do anything
You believed in me
You believed so strongly
that I had no choice
but to believe in myself

a father leaving a daughter with so much confidence...even as he is gone, that belief still lives with her.
a stirring tribute to a mentor....

Not all of us were lucky enough to "survive" life's happens unmarked. And an unrelenting faith in someone else's abilities doesn't always follow through. Experience is a true b***h to have to acquire and overcome.

Sometimes it takes someone else to believe in you in order for you to believe in yourself. This poem did a nice job of getting that relatable message across. I liked how the beginning lines tricked me into thinking this was a person who didn't care or didn't know you might've not been ok, to being a pillar of support to find self confidence.
