XIV. Eyes of Red

XIV. Eyes of Red

A Chapter by Green Regol

His sentence halts;

His eyes dart 'way.

We stop the waltz;

We cease to sway.

With stiffened frame,

He lifts me up.

I feel the shame,

Though right-side-up;

I know he sees

Another man.

I see him freeze;

That's all he can

Do this instant,

Although enraged.

For shout, he can't;

He is but caged

By iron shock;

By bars of fear.

He cannot walk;

Can't shed a tear.

He only glares

At the Pure soul

With blazing red

Eyes of red.
