Mine Mind

Mine Mind

A Poem by Rev. LeRoy James
"

a stream of consciousness...

"
only in the fullest reaches
of interdimensional spaces
will I find the truest persons
personified, personably, probably me
me is the name I call myself
I always hated that fricken movie,
Julie Andrews, oy boy what a voice
singing, signing into another roll call
cinnamon roll, pastries an incredible call
to the stomach rumbling, tumbling, tumbling
tumbleweeds in the desert with terrifying tanks
rolling over the dunes with murder
inside their impenetrable armor plating
gold plated? no, full on 24 karat my friends
the good s**t, not much for wear but
talk about malleability
mushing, mashing down under the constant
hammering of that voice
so arrogant, so sincere in his rightness
never ever again will I listen, the past
is just that gone forever gone he can't touch
me, I've grown beyond his influence
I took all the pain he gave and forged it
into my gifts I forgave him and he will never
truly know happiness, because he couldn't
figure out how to be a 'father' well it's my turn
and my boys will know what it is to be loved
yes I'm tough, but they get the fun the hugs
the wrestling around and the play
that I never got they and I are the lucky ones
and that's something the b*****d will never
be a part of because he doesn't and can't know.
