Lately...

Lately . . .

 

Some days lately

I actually feel the need

To be close to another.

But something always stops me,

Guess I’m not ready.

Maybe it’s my demons,

Running amok in my head…

 

But maybe it’s more.

The mixed emotions I’m feeling,

Frantically searching,

My need to reconnect.

To breathe, somehow free,

Not afraid of the outcome,

Trusting without fear once again…

 

Understanding past traumas,

Seems fleetingly simplistic

Seeking compassion

Wherever it dwells

To deal with the symptoms

Acceptance regardless

Reality is compromised…

 

Core beliefs no longer valid.

Thoughts threaten to derail,

My hunt for relief,

Crying out in my head.

Outwardly so normal,

I walk on ever searching,
