The Thirteenth Sunday

The Thirteenth Sunday

A Poem by Gray Witch
"

The 13th Sunday after Trinity

"

The Thirteenth Sunday

Summer and sunlight

Sunday again

Suffering silently

Thinking and longing

For a past long forgotten

That no one but me

Sees anything as positive

In the past I remember

So fleetingly short

So harrowingly long

The effects will still follow me

Affecting my life

Till the end of my days…

Good Samaritans are helping me

Walk through this old mine field

Watching my steps

As I navigate my past

But for them I would wander

Not conferring with others

Still blaming myself

For following my heart

When asked so to do.

So thanks to the guides

Who I’ve met on the way

I know that God in his heaven

Continues to bless them today…
