Mind Over Matter

Mind Over Matter

A Poem by Gray Witch
"

Really?

"

Mind Over Matter

Sexual thrall,

Behaviour as imprinted,

There is no control over this

Constant craving.

Acknowledged, but not accepted,

Easier to hide away,

Emotions like back-mail,

Body consistently betraying the mind.

Self-loathing becomes a sport,

Stacking boxes an art form,

Maybe now that I know

Hiding to cope will not be required.

But, if there isn’t a way to circumvent this intrusion

Likely as not he will win in the end.

I need to stay positive and get on with my life

Ignoring his comments that hurt to the core.

Power and force how could I not help to

Become as a puppet, operated by strings.

Invisible but tightly wound,

Indelibly marked even after decades gone by.

Mind over matter allows control to be yours

Not so for the programmed, imprinted too young

Responses are taught, subconsciously elicited

Regardless of age they persist to the end.

I see someone that has been used years ago. Badly used. This user still holds the reigns after all this time. Acknowledged responses have been programmed from a young age. Acknowledged but not accepted. This is a struggle daily... this is what I see here. This piece goes very deep. Perhaps to the very core. Angi~
