The Looking Glasses

The Looking Glasses

A Poem by Gray Witch

Hindsight being 20/20 . . .

The Looking Glasses

Something’s not right, this I feel all around me

Scared of the unknown is a common refrain

Of finding the truth buried deeply for years

Is it all in the mind, or is it overtly obsessing?

Desperate to ignore long forgotten compulsions

Attraction I find, or exude without knowing

Fearful, I blame my inner voices, I struggle

It’s hard not to self loath when actions betray.

Codependency apparent desires impassioned

Fears rise to the surface to combat idle longing

Raises the need to be loved to superlative heights

Choosing wisely the issue, lacking hindsight the fact.

The undercurrent of desire remains subtly scented

Why do some notice, react and resound

While others ignore or do miss it entirely

I am lost and confused, some say understandably so.

Of course we see things so clearly after the fact. Its unfortunate...wouldn't I the great to know the perils ahead and avoid all the pain? Sigh....

Have friends on their fourth to seventh 'leap of faith'. Though hindsight may be overrated...proceed with caution. Very well done...

Well the world is a confusing place, full of people who may as well be aliens for the difference between them.
