Still sick, I guessA Poem by Gray Witch. . . and years later ...Still
Sick, I Guess
I should, but can not hate
. . .
People will
never understand. But abuse is
not all ill treatment to the one abused. In that
present, to many it is love, affection and adulation A safe haven
when others neglect or lose empathy, Feelings of
love and secrecy, tinged with desire.
Safety when one
has lost their way. In a world
where confusion and complex messages Get
misinterpreted and like barbed-wire entwine, Less than
mature thoughts and inclinations Making
large-eyed and innocence the draw.
The two
diametrically opposed in society’s views. But beauty and
ingenuousness is the attracter. Yes, the elder
power wins over, the other succumbs But what’s
right is not a consideration in the thralls of first love, Ne’er has been,
never will be.
With age comes
clarity, sometimes unwanted. When the thorny
see-saw of childhood ambivalency Must be dealt
with by the mature mind and body. Tortuous to say
the least, wanting to retain memories falsely created, Crying out for
peace of mind, heart and soul.
I now detest, but cannot
change, my shared past . . . © 2013 Gray WitchReviews
