Memories of Home

Indigo wallpaper mashed by red blobs
Seeps to the carpet with gentle sobs

Wisps in my room of memories passed
Held by posters that I had amassed
Endured the years to those papered veils
Remembering the spells that they once cast
Even after childhood dreams held fast

Time seemed to have stopped in this hallowed place
Held unburdened and unseen by times ageless face
Every year held bound by a gentle embrace

Heavenly aromas disperse throughout
Each spice arouses my senses to shout
Apple pie sits cooling by the window
Reliving visions of a love devout
Tasting a memory I had long been without

I am back to the roots of my adolescence
Sending feelings rushing back of a lost innocence
