To Be Continued...

To Be Continued...

A Poem by Gordon Greene

There it was.

Many years of seeing – many years of being blind to all it held.

The picture showed two young love-struck kids, trying to make a mark.

To see the empty shell that both became; one an alcoholic and one a poor, lost soul, I never saw them for the same young lovers I see on the mantel today.

But Choice can be a loving companion or an evil mistress.

For no apparent reason, we take the good graces we are given,

                               And we crush them…

                                                            Or caress them.

The choice is ours to make.

And if we are blessed, our life is…

Nothing is closer to the truth, It is our choice as to how our life turns out.

A very sobering thought that each of of should give thought to.

Very beautifully written.
