Paint
Bright and dull
And in-between
Covering walls
Covering floors
Everywhere

On paintbrush
Smooth and even
Glides across surfaces
Murals, tall and beautiful

On fingers and hands
Sticky and awkward
Uneven and out of order
Spotty and wonderful

In classrooms
Taught the correct way
And form, and style
Each one of the children
Finds their own style

Paint
Bright and dull
And in-between
Covering walls
Covering floors
Everywhere

In our hearts
Minds
And souls
