"

"I'm not ready for this…" The sound of boots meeting stone echoed throughout the lavishly decorated hallway."What if I can't live up to everyone's expectations…?" Extravagant paintings of nobles lined the walls each one standing in proud contrast to the young boy's shy demeanor. "I should've died instead of him…." A frantic servant scrambled to bow towards the boy before hastily passing through a door. The scent of roasted pig assailed the young lord's nose before dissipating as the door slammed shut. He wasn't sure that he would have much of an appetite for the feast tonight.

Opening the dressing room door Keagan wondered what he would be wearing for the celebration.  He lazily took a seat as the dressing maid gave him a warm smile and taking his morning coat. Looking in the mirror before him the prince understood why, his features were furrowed into a look of despair. Silently thanking the girl for her sweetness Keagan calmed significantly. It would do no one any good for him to have such a look about his face. People like this young servant depended on him now and he couldn't let them down. Now donning his late father's luxurious crown Keagan strode with a newfound confidence. Each step drawing him closer to the cheering of his subjects. Thrusting the doors to the balcony open Keagan took his first step into his new life arms open.
