Empty Nest!

Empty Nest!

A Poem by Beatrice Boyle (Grandma Bea)
"

Be careful what you pray for!!

"

Empty Nest

Sounds echoing through the house
of slamming doors
Heavy metal turned up
to a fever pitch
The whirring of
the washing machine
in perpetual motion
Screams of outrage from
warring siblings
The insistent ringing
of the telephone
Dogs barking
Cats hissing
Doorbells chiming
Pillows flying
Babies crying
Oh Lord...when will it ever stop!

Oh Lord, who giveth and
taketh away…
The sound of silence…
is deafening today!

Gramdma Bea this is an awesome poem, we too have the empty nest syndrome in our house and as you said,
the sound of silence can be deafening.
