A Brand New World

A Brand New World

A Poem by Beatrice Boyle (Grandma Bea)
"

We are on the brink of a new era of peace and understanding...let us hope others will follow our lead. God Bless America!

"

A Brand New World

Give me you’re tired

You’re poor

In spirit

Longing to be free

The time has come

America is truly free

We are equal,

Black and white

A miracle has come

To be

Brothers and sisters

All the same

Discrimination is gone

We were all

To blame

Let us stand together

Side by side

Lest others try to

Stem the tide

Prejudice has no place

In our country’s

Bold new face

Let us lead the Nations

Again anew

To a better world

Where freedom

Rings true!

Our country once again

Is whole

As Lochinvar assumes

His role

One nation, for one

And all

We’ve finally heard

Freedom’s call!

Welcome dear Bea to this new venue :)

I love that you addressed the people in this piece - that you so perfectly said that it was in standing together and losing their prejudices that change has come. Of course Obama is representative of that desire - but the power is in and with the people. There is a new fever and you reflected it.

You note great moments in history with admirable words and a great warmth and passion.

I noted elsewhere that my wish now is...
"That the American people BE the change they voted for"

Namaste,
Tina
